“Well, are we running out of couturiers?

8 Valentino

A couple of days a go Lulu and i finally got to watch Valentino: The Last Emperor. The documental very much captured Valentino through his last 100 meters of his career, and the desperation of the company to attract a younger clientele. There are some things that can’t be changed. Example: The Law of Gravity; and in this case, Valentino Garavani’s master mind when it comes to couture. Saying that, it’s true that he was one of the last couturiers of our century. Both Lulu and i, of course, were astonished and sad when we heard that Valentino had left his company, but that was 2 or 3 years ago, and it was to be expected. We decided to put on a scale the Valentino of today and the Valentino of 5, 10, 15 years… the Valentino of yesterday. It’s not the same, the house, of course, was going to loose it’s essence. And it’s never going to be the same, we know. Anyways, Lulu wore this coat as a dress this weekend when she went to run some errands and buy her Christmas look.
