“Step away Mickey Mouse or your head will roll… *evil laugh* (you got it?, no you did not, i’m The Headless Horseman) God, i’m such a bad joke-teller”

By now i’ll be watching my HORROR MOVIE MARATHON (i added Whatever Happened to Jane) with my DIY faux-Maison-Michel “bear ears”. They ended up looking like a mixed milkshake of Lady Gaga Alejandro music video, Mickey Mouse, a funeral in Mexico in the late1940’s and Chloe Sevigny. Or you could just say Mickey Mouse ears. Anyway:

“Well, the couch is pretty comfortable…”

1. Breakfast at Tiffany’s. –Done.
2. Edward Scissorhands. – Done.

Remember the post about the iconic movies i started to watch?. Well, i saw Edward Scissorhands the other day, and i found myself drowned by the idea of the existence of a human being pushed away due to the fact that he’s different. A human being who can’t receive love because he’s different. A human being who knows he can’t be normal. Doesn’t it makes you think?. Doesn’t it makes you be absorbed into a fantasy land where you can be able to create your own persona?. The whole message was brilliant. I absorbed everything. At the end the concept of being normal is being abnormal. Tim Burton is a GENIOUS. The costumes where really interesting. I saw Rei Kawakubo’s work for Commes des Garçons mixed with Miuccia Prada’s designs. Weird combination huh?…  I also loved the ice dance (snowy) scene where Kim moves in the flowing snow (ice), the scene was beautiful, and also this part:
Kim: Hold me.
Edward: I can’t.

My goal is to watch at least 10 iconic movies. Down 2, 8 up.

Which one do you recommend?

“Paris Fashion Week Round-Up Part 3”

Oh who doesn’t loves a Sonia Rykiel show?… The french feministic aesthetic is everywhere from the attitude of the models to the clothes. We know that she’s the queen of knits but i loved more the other pieces presented here. Like the pink/salmon suit that was insanely gorgeous and fun. My favorite look was that, the pink/salmon pantsuit. Anne Valerié Hash collection is so de-preoccupied and so light that i was hard to feel anything but romance from this collection. She said backstage: “You know how you look when you’re in love, that rosy glow?”.  Itself the collection is an ode on how she describes being in love thru the clothes. My favorite look here is the one consisting of the peach blouse plus the rolled up cream/sand colored pants with suspenders. Guillaume Henry’s collection for Carven is as feminine as a bow ribbon. The printed looks were gorgeous. My favorite look has to be to printed half halter half strapless dress with a bow that looks like bunny ears. At Chloe, Hannah MacGibbon’s collection was the epitome of the minimalistic ballerina (i think you all have already heard that a zillion times, but it worth saying it again). My favorite look was the long sleeved top plus sheer shimmering skirt and those super sweet ballet flats. Nina Ricci’s collection by Peter Copping was amazingly and surprisingly fun to watch and super feminine (yet another feminine). At first i was bored by the fact that Oliver Theykens was out of Nina Ricci, i loved his work. But with this collection Peter Copping made me fall for his designs. My favorite look was the dress in pink powder color with neon dashes.

“Ooh, i rather sit on the couch and feel like an old man, watching movies…”

Maybe you’ll need to know that i’m very much of a loner and that i rather watch movies or the history channel than going out. And i decided that during my free time i’ll enjoy some iconic movies and maybe to get some inspiration of to draw or write. So i started with Breakfast at Tiffany’s and let me tell you, i’ve watched it 3 times last Sunday and ooooooooh i’m in love with Holly Golightly and Paul Varjak. I love this part of the movie when Holly enters by the window to Paul’s apartment and they say:
Holly Golightly: it’s alright. It’s only me.
Paul Varjak: Uh… Now wait a minute, Miss… uh…
Holly Golightly: Golightly. Holly Golightly. I live downstairs. We met this morning, remember?
Paul Varjak: Yeah.

Aren’t they amazingly lovely?

Before watching this movie i never really understood what was the boom with Audrey Hepburn at all, but now i quite do. Her innocence is beyond looks. The beginning, the moon river scene and the final scene are completely beautiful. The idea of she seated on the edge of her window in the movie singing Moon River is sickly obsessive. Aren’t you already quite in love with the movie?. And the final scene is like the cherry on top of an extra sugar, with double vanilla frost cake.

Thanks Truman Capote for writing this novel and Blake Edwards for bringing me this wonderful movie.

It was nice to be surrounded by butts (only the ones who where there know what i’m talking about) and with my blogger friends Marirene, Alexa and Josse Karlo.
